Just got my early buy in the mail from Robbins. They have Blackstone pellets for $260, anybody ever try these?
Mine just came too. Did you also notice they are selling EasyBlaze this year too? I never heard of those Blackstone pellets before, but some other place around here is selling them this year too. Can't remember where. I'm going to swing in next week to order my Vermonts so I will ask about the Blackstones while I'm there.
Is this possibly ThermaGlo? You guys gotta test some of these! Blackstone Wood Fuels is a producer of premium grade hardwood pellet fuel. Our plant is located in Eastford, CT within the heart of the Blackstone River Valley. We employ 25 full time employees and support many more jobs in the wood fiber and transportation industries. Blackstone began producing wood pellets in October of 2014 and has the capacity to produce over 15,000 tons of premium grade pellet fuel each year. Blackstone Wood Fuels is actively seeking to add new dealers to our growing roster of customers. If your company is in the business of selling wood pellet fuel to consumers, please contact us to apply for a dealership.
You've gotta be kidding me! This place is right around the corner from me. Don't know how I never heard of it before. I may just have to grab some to support the locals!
I need to buy some grass seed in a couple of weeks. While I am there I will see if they will sell me a ton of the Blackstone at that price and let me grab half a ton at a time to take it home.
Agreed they do carry a lot of brands. I was hoping they would add Lacretes and/or North Country to the lineup this year! Oh well, maybe one day...
I hear ya tt. I ended up using a wire wheel and some solvent to get rid that crap. I'm so glad that CT traded 2 tons of my pre-buy Okie junk for Barefoots.
How's this for an early buy deal? HD just increased their prices from $5.19/bag to $5.79/bag - $270/ton. They also increased to $6.29/bag or $300/ton for their "better" pellets. Seems a very odd time of year to do that...What gives? Sub, that deal you are getting at Sib is looking better all the time! With this nonsense going on, I may be buying more from Robbins this year than originally planned!
I hate to say this , but it looks like the days of the under $250 / ton are history, or at the very least are rare ,and might be a chit pellet at least here in the east.
The price of oil creeping back up isn't going to help us either. I was hoping low oil would create an abundance of pellets. That may be in jeopardy.
Wife checked the price of pellets at TSC and they are at $269/ton. Hopping they drop some before we get the coupon and the early buy deals. She brought home 2 bags of some thing we have never seen in our area. Last time we saw them we had to drive to Danbury and it was only for a 2 bag test sample! SOMERSET!! I darn near fell over!! Only had 20 bags next to the door(she said). Well at least we have something to hope for. Finally something good shows in our area. But most likely won't last until the deals start to happen!!
