daffonce....please don't start flapping your lips...when you have no idea what you are talking about ..don't know where you are getting your information from...but it is just plain wrong most of the time...Scotia was the mill in New Brunswick that supplied pellets to Europe. They never supplied one pound of product to Upton or the New England market...never and that is what took down the company for the most part...they never had enough fibre to supply the mill from the day they bought it and that is what I am referring too...that was probably 80% of the problem ...throw in some other stuff that I have no intentions of rehashing and wave bye bye to the company as a whole...Just like NEWP's parent company which went under this past month, NEWP was doing just fine, but the parent got in trouble and down they went as a whole...same thing with Viridis.

ALL 100% of the product that was in the Upton yard came from BC and when the parent went down there was lots of Platinum and Gold in the yard, which got tied up in the courts till the bk got discharged and we could again sell the product...that happened a few months ago and what we have been selling off is that product...once gone...it will be gone never to be found in Upton again..(I know I should never ...say never....but I'm pretty confident it will never happen again)...what I have currently left is only about 200 tons of Platinum and some very well priced horse bedding formally known as Okanagan Gold....not real pretty looking, but the horse seem to love it...

I don't believe I have ever stated there was 10's of thousand of tons sitting on the hill in Upton...What I said was that I have sold that amount over the years of selling the product and it is a well known product in NE and elsewhere.

Daffone...what the hell are you talking about?.....we sell pellets everyday...we ship pellets everyday and some pellets sell better than others...and some sell more in different months of the year....we always try and have a working inventory....some times more than others...currently there is tiny bit of Okanagan Platinum and more Okanagan Gold (being sold ONLY as horse bedding) but once they are gone, I'm out of the Okanagan pellet business...there are no Okanagan Douglas Fir in Upton whatsoever and hasn't been for some time, as none of that was caught up in the bk....but they are available thru another supplier.....so please get your facts straight if you want to talk smack about me or my products....

I have burned at least 3 tons of the ones from Canada direct and as I have stated many times here I really like them in any of my stoves. With not ever having seen or run a pellet mill I was curious if the pellets you created were of the same quality, certainly not questioning your practice just interested in it and its outcome.

You have answered my question perfectly and I thank you kindly.

I would assume you know your product well as its in your best interest and actually one of the keys to survival, I don't know much about you except what I have read here but it seems you are surviving and possibly flourishing in what appears to be a tough business. I prefer to always go to the source which is one of the reasons I found this place and its wonderful people.

Now if you want to know how to build high rises , historic renovation, or even any aspect of construction including residential I would be the source for that is what I have been doing for a very long time.

I always appreciate transparency and honestly another reason I enjoy my time here.

Once again thank you kindly for your informative, transparent, and honest response as I am grateful.

I am saying on a particular 2+ acre portion of upton that for a long time there were 10+ thousand tons of oakie product.

I am talking about a good long time before viridis bk that there were 10s of thousands of oakie pellets sitting on top of Oakie hill in upton. All the while some sales guy was saying sales were great right up until the bankruptcy news hit the press. Seems like some marketing/sales guy painted some rosey forecast and ramped up big time and got management to invest lots of money, then the sales didn't materialize, even though we were told they were brisk and great, and viridis could no longer pay the bills and went belly up. Leaving Dana with a whole chitload of product that weren't paid for by a now defunct company that they are now selling at a discount.

And i will say based on what is currently in upton, availability of pellets at multiple vendors around my area, and this cold weather; i hope everyone has what they need for feb and march if it stays cold, because unlike in the past when there were good deals as the year wore on, i would think we are much more likely to see shortages this year vs deals. People getting hurned by carrying large levels of inventory and the Fires out west probably havent helped any of this.

Well if you want to use that theory....look at the picture...I see about 8 difference colored piles of covered pellets...Okanagan back in the day had 3 brands....could maybe the others be ..oh lets see...Tru Heat, Purcell, LG's, and some other one off brands...hummm
When Viridis went bk last year...there was a total of just over 2300 tons of Platinums in Upton's yard...today this about 200 tons still available and I'm thinking they will all be gone by the end of Jan. At the very best and busiest time in the fall/winter of 2014/2015 I never had 10,000 tons total of all the brands combined on the ground at Upton...NEVER......so his numbers are inflated........but I do wish I have much more product right now as it's been flying out of there this past month and with the current streak of cold cold weather, it seems that people are burning at a good rate and will probably have to add or restock sooner than later....it certainly seems to be a much better winter for our industry than the last two winters and I doubt anybody will exit this season with any amount of excess inventory...unlike the last two years.

Very true here Doug, started w/ 2+ tons on hand back in Sept. '17, didn't think we'd be burning all of it by Jan. 1, '18, that's for sure.

    * Still trying to get a few test bags of NW SS from Hamshaws Keene, every time I go, they're sold out.(!) .. I'll keep trying though.
