You will need to make a 1.5mm (0.0590) spacer for the base of the 7900 jug.

Not bad to make. I made one for the 7900 I'm messing with in about a half hour. A guy with a mill could make them a little nice and maybe quicker.

What I was told last week the new 7900 cylinders are coming with the decomp in the top like the solo. They come with a new top cover for the dolmar.

I made one for a 681 with a 272 piston. That piston swap was a mistake. It killed case compression. Ran about ten times better when I put the stock piston back in.

I wish I could get a hold of a piston that Ed Heard had made.

The best piston for those saws is the new one that Dolmar developed.

Those guys have far more funding for R&D than we will ever dream of.

Well taking 0.050 off the squish would be great if I had the tooling and was set up to do that! Everytime I need that kind of work, I have to go see my gunsmith and beg to use his stuff! Usually costs me a case of wine! He don't like pie!

    Yep......

And the 681 performs better with the new piston. When the Solo was engineered that piston was not available.

Long drive NY to TN and the pie would not survive the UPS!

Didn't even know this forum existed. Thanks Randy for sharing it. I'm still working but I'll test the new coil tonigh. It'll be late though.
