Hey Fellas, A quick post on double wall stove pipe. I'm looking for 6" for the new IS install. Suggestions for online or local dealers for decent prices please.
I'm really glad I went with the double wall stove pipe with the Beta Ideal Steel stove last season, especially considering the lower flue temps this stove operates at. It's peace of mind more than anything. I can't help with the Duravent. We bought our Selkirk Supervent Class A flue at Lowes, and I bought their double wall stove pipe kit off the shelf when I converted to double wall. It was in an old beat up box that had been on the shelf for years and they gave a hefty discount due to the box being opened and resealed and generally beat up. Everything was in the box, in good shape, and went together easily. Does Home Depot or TSC carry the DVL? They both carry Duravent Class A if I remember correctly.
Brian, for some reason HD and Lowes do not carry a lot of stove supplies up this way. Lowes will have some single wall but I have never seen double wall there. I'll have to look around for a tractor supply store too, nothing near me. I was hoping some more folks would chime in on this Looking online again, see if I can find this cheaper than what I wanted to spend.
I just dig a quick search, not easy to find. Here's a good list: http://www.redhillgeneralstore.com/...inch-Dura-Vent-DVL-Double-Wall-Stove-Pipe.htm I'm surprised they don't offer a "to-the-wall" kit like I got with the Selkirk DSP double wall.
The 2 best places I've ordered pipe from have been the above mentioned Dynamite Buys.com, and our own Eric at Kinsman Stoves......he's a great guy to deal with, and will give discounts to forum members.
They Seem to have pretty good prices here http://www.ventingpipe.com/all-stove-pipe/c15658?f3371=double wall&f3370=6
I'm also looking for pipe. I checked the kinsman site and it doesn't list prices. Is it best to contact Eric through here or just call and ask for him?
I just went to the dealer I got my Jotul from in 07' and he gave me a price for some of the parts I needed. I gave him some of the prices I had looked up online and he said he couldn't compete with them. So, as a favor for coming back to his business, he gave me the elbows I needed at a few dollars higher than the figures I had. So I have my elbows, now I'm going to measure the straight lengths inbetween the elbows and figure out what I need to finish this.
Call Eric at the Brookfield store. Tell him you're on the FHC site and a member here recommended you call him. He's a great guy to talk to, and is very knowledgeable....he's a certified senior stove tech.
DynamiteBuys (now selling under the WoodStovesPro.com site) is still cheaper, and has free shipping on orders of over $89)
