Beautiful evening to work the splitter. The hickory borers were busy guys over the summer. This was from the last load I hauled home before my back had it's blow out and put me out of commission. Some beech and ash behind that from the load before. Of course I have to get a picture of my splitting buddy, Piper.
Dogs make the best splitting partners. They may not pick much up, but they are happy and never tell you what to do
I still have a heap of hickory to split....been sitting in rounds for almost 3 years....... Good stuff!
Those buggers were busy! Tons of dust on the pig nut that wasn't covered right away. The rounds I didn't split were worse..lol..
Yep, they love that Hickory. I hope it's covered well, or you may have to glue it back together into energy logs!
Finished the other pile, first couple rows on this pile are laced, hickory, red oak and ash. More dusty pignut. Tried to get a couple shots of what I have to spilt yet, hard to do so between the pines where I have it stacked. Around 3 more cords.
