I'm very lucky to have such a good source. Honestly there is so much wood available everywhere around me I'm like a cat in catnip!

I would haul 40% less wood thrown on, .78 versus 1.3 cords. I still can't figure out how these guys haul a cord on 8' truck bed thrown level to the top of the bed:picard:

If anyone one is hauling a cord on a 8’ truck bed level to the top, they are doing it in multiple trips.

Most of the time I’ll end up tossing the wood in the trailer and save time from stacking but still get a cord out of the woods.

We're going to look at some logs Sunday, it will be a 4 hour trip each way. If this works out I may be looking for a trailer, I like the idea of a dump trailer with tall side walls.

That is large. If your going to drive 4 hours one way for logs you might as well make it worth the trip.

I keep forgetting about this one, it belongs to the cabinet shop next door, 7×14 with 7000 lb axles each. This is the time I would like a diesel truck, not sure if the 3/4 Suburban is up to it.

I guess I'll see about hauling the junk to the land fill and go from there. 20180224_083649.jpg

If your Suburban is up to it I can guarantee that the receiver hitch isn’t. My dually diesel is rated for 12K number pull and 16K gooseneck. I replaced the hitch on the truck because the factory hitch is junk and was rusty. You might not have the rusty crap to deal with since your in Texas.
