    The pumice bricks are light and very fragile! Broke 3 out of 4 on the back wall loading firewood.. These have held up good so far and were inexpensive.. Bought them at TSC..

    I think if your wood is good and dry its not gonna make a big differnce like your saying. Good wood solves alot of problems.

    Got my tax return back, but it won't fully clear the bank until 3pm tomorrow. Going to order the stove then, 2-3 weeks for free delivery to the store.

    That stove should really be a large improvement over the USSC you have now. Longer burns, cleaner burns, and better heat output.

    Yep, it's the stove we were going to buy going into the season until we found the USSC on such a discount. Hindsight is 20/20...

    Well, with the way this winter is going, you will still have another two or three months of burning with the new stove... :mad:

    Seriously, though, congrats on the new stove. I hope it makes your life easier.

    I had an issue with the Defiant last night. Had to let the stove burn down, empty it out, and clean the pipe. I had a ridiculous amount of build up. The Defiant is a really dirty burner.

    Great, let us know how you like it, the more I run my Austral the more I like it.
    Its been a little colder a few days here and there (lows in the teens this morning) so can build a good fire in the Drolet and wood burning is more enjoyable now.

    While looking to see if any one still had the Drolets on sale I found many reviews from 2009 or before that loved the stove, not sure how this stove has fell through the cracks this long. The reviews all state how easy the stove is to run and how much heat it puts out.

    The HT2000 was a very strong second when I decided on the 30 from Englander, price was the deciding factor.

    Woke up yesterday to a hot bed of coals 12 hours after last feeding it. That's a first for me, threw on some splits and it took right back off.
