With prices continuing to rise on everything, I'm curious to know what process or technique everyone uses to drain bar oil from their saws to minimize oil loss while on the shelf?
I turn my saws on their sides...if one sits a month, the leakage adds up to about 30 seconds of running the saw. Not much to worry about.
Not a concern for me. A couple of them seem to leak a little bit not enough to concern me The other option is just use them more This gets my vote.
I stop the leak. Sometime when the oil pump feed/outlet rubber lines get old they don't seal the pump and or tank well. I can sometimes get one application of rtv to work for a while, when that fails, I get new lines.
Make sure your area around the oil cap and cap on your saw are clean, I use a funnel and just pour it back in the container from the saw when I do this.
I leave as is. Only a couple saws drool IIRC. PITA when i forget and the saw "pees" on the floor! If i store them on their side it seems to help.
YES! You have lots of yard i, uh i mean you, or we could fill up. Look on the bright side...less grass to mow!
