I wouldve grabbed it too. I have the 1" diameter limbs from what the landlord pruned off of ours in the woods. I can bring them over to help the cause!!!
I feel your pain. I was at the transfer station near my house a month ago. There was about 3 cords of nice bucked Douglas Fir rounds in a big pile next to the trash heap. I excitedly asked if I could have the wood. I figured someone dumped it out of their big hydro dumper. The guy running the front end loader laughed and said... "That's mine! I pick out all of the nice firewood for myself!" So, I'm guessing that I'll never get a score from my transfer station either.
I swear I must be frequenting the same exact drop zones all over town as the illegal mulberry dumping baron is. One more orange stick for the hoard
I was bringing a load of brush to the dump this morning and passed a tree removal. On my way back home, I pulled into the parking lot to investigate. Mulberry! It was a daycare that just bought the building next door to expand their business, and they were cleaning up the property. A woman that works there happened to be outside so I asked if she wanted some of the brush removed. She did a double take and looked at me funny. “Wait, you actually WANT this stuff?” “Well… yeah!” I replied. She told me to help myself. Unfortunately since I’m not in “hoarding mode” I didn’t have a saw with me. There’s still the standing trunk there, close to the power lines. I’ll check back soon and if it’s on the ground, I’ll bring a saw and take that too.
If it makes you feel better...we don't even have any 'dumps' here to go look at. Rare exception last fall when the State Hwy Dept trimmed some trees on a highway and piled them out in the open for scavenging.
