Well I was afraid of this after having SNAFU'ed the experiments at Davis Base , the idiots from Australia are now going to do in the re-supply and re-provisioning mission to McMurdo. Now the US taxpayers get hit with expenses. Where was the help when Shackleton needed it? (Another good read is Shackelton's Forgotten Men'. It's about what happened to the other half of his expedition, the group that laid on the back half of his proposed trans-continental journey. They had it real bad.)

Just watched a good documentary on Smithsonian's Roku channel called "Shackelton's Frozen Hell." It was pretty good, might be available on their website.
You all understand that they were retracing a prior expedition (non Shackelton's) that also ran into trouble. These folks didn't learn from history and also didn't learn from modern satellite images it is just plain stupid and you can't fix that. The Polar Star actually got their weather information from some folks that don't pull punches and it wasn't from those folks at The Weather Channel.
