When should you replace the door gasket, had a good one last night, put in a couple of sticks of oak and wamo 650 on the stack and climbing. Cut the air back as low as I could didn't climb past 650 but couldn't slow it down. Did the dollar bill test and it seems ok not tight but a little tension.
Doesn't sound to awful bad........ I wouldn't worry about replacing it at this point and would wait until we get some warmer temps. Most stoves have been drafting like a freight train with the recent cold snaps and can get away from you in a hurry.
If it passes the dollar bill test I would hold off on the new gasket. Is your stove acting differently than usual? As Cert mentioned, cold temps and high winds have stoves drawing hard recently.
Jim, I agree. In these cold temperatures and then the wind too, that will give a bit more draft. It certainly does not sound like a door leak. When to replace the gasket is strange to me. I rarely have done it but I see folks doing it sometimes annually or semi-annually and I wonder why. We're into our 8th year with this stove and have not yet changed. The last stove we had we went somewhere just shy of 20 years before we had to change.
