Started splitting the big rounds from Serindipitous small score Set the splitter right where I could roll a short distance then topple the round onto my grid. I was going to get a picture of both my Wif and I under the tree also but she found out that I was going to go vertical with the splitter:picard:so she would have nothing to do with me! The stacked wood is mostly just the 4 smallest rounds. There are a very few of the small 12" split rounds also in there. Finished rick will be 9'-6"L X 60"H X 16" splits so just under a half cord. This wood is just a bit green to be stacking deep in the woodshed so I am stacking outside. Tomorrow I will move the last of my 2 year cured into the shed and finish the outside of the shed stack with any leftover of this new stuff. Hope there is enough to fill it!:axe::stacker:

    Vertical? :hair:

Great pics as usual Russ. One thing I don’t really take much time with is stacking. Your cribbed ends are picture perfect. :salute:

I read that laughed out loud; my bride, what you laughing at? I showed her the post. We are looking at your pics admiring your cribbing and stacks talking amongst our selves.

Our daughters snide comment as she’s leaves with friends. My parents are weird and have weird friends they are talking about positions; vertical or horizontal and it’s firewood related:picard:

Shame on your wife. Tell her even God likes vertical splitting. After all, he made the trees row vertically and that is how they should be split.

That is certainly an "interesting" wedge on that splitter...

This is too funny. Conversations like this about positions are encountered only in the sticks among firewood people or maybe in some questionable establishments in larger cities!

Aah but I have this strange habit of felling and bucking the trees before splitting. Never saw the sense in standing the tree back up again :)
