Hey thought I would share this here as well.
The 6100 continues to put a smile on my face and starts so easy.

This is in some green white oak about 18" across.

Making more firewood. This time with a dead white oak that is a bit harder then the green one. Lol

My 6100 is downright ferocious sounding compared to most new saws.

The Dolmar's run high compression, that's what makes them sound so good.

Need confirmation of that? My 6100, after 4-5 tankfuls- 210 psi. Two years and many more tankfuls later- 210 psi. Right up around what I used to see on a 12.5/1 CR production-racer. Consistency & durability a BIG PLUS. Still a badazz spitting chips.

    210PS is awesome!!

However CR in piston ported 2 cycles is a lot harder to determine do to scavenge loss and because the cylinder is feed fuel from the crank case. If the saw really had 12:5/1 CR pump fuel wouldn't work, let alone 89 octane. The trapped or Corrected method, is most commonly used to determine CR in these engines, and even then the numbers aren't perfect. 210PS in a piston ported saw is still well under 10:1 as most stock saws with 150/160 PS of compression are around 6:8:1

I would like to get the compression of mine since it has broken in. I can even tell a difference in the pull of the rope even with the easy start. But don't worry my 7 year old can still start it for me. Lol

I tried to cause a vapor lock to day. Why?
    One I was curious.
Two an excuse to run my saws.
Three to make a video. Lol

It was 91 degrees out I was running91 octane e-free fuel dolmar synthetic oil
I noodled oak and removed the stump .
I ran the saw hard and as lean as I am willing to go for 30 min. Killed the saw directly out of the cut and let it sit in the sun for 15 min.
I understand that this situation can cause vapor lock and serious starting problems.
As you can see it started right up though it did have a slight lean sounding hesitation for the first couple blips of the throttle.
Great news I sweated off 10 pounds in 2 hours!
    Anyways enjoy

Now leave it in the black lined bed of a black pickup. I was boiling fuel in the tank when I popped the cap to check on mine! Once things calmed down, it ran fine.

LOL that whooped me yesterday I am satisfied that my saws will probably never have a vapor lock. Working that much in that heat just zapped me. Lol

Yea, the saws usually hold up their end better than I do in heat like that. I don't like runnin em when it's hot!!!

Anybody want to watch the 6100 pull a 24" junk safety chain through a 20" + Hickory?
