Hmmmm....yes, but usually to hold an ice pack... if one isn't careful and wears a brace/belt too often the core muscles start to get weak, which is typically the root cause of lower back pain. This is of course not taking into account a slipped disk or other disk issues. But not relying on the core muscle group in the first place will cause all kinds of back problems.
Tense up the abdominals on the way down in a lift (using proper geometry w/ back straight, powering upwards with the legs), and hold that abdominal condition on the way up, too. Don't forget to breath!
My mom has had both arthritic knees replaced in her 80s, and is walking without a cane or walker. Ya never know. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
More odds and ends. Straighten out the maple I didn't actually finish stacking, I had it off the ground and covered though. Straighten up the Hickory I was using last year Stash the chunks in the crates before it rains Still have some pallet wood I have to make kindling out of. Just a bunch of piddly crap but, it happened
I think the best thing that ever happened for my lower back was firewood. Lifting rounds and swinging an axe really built up my core that had gotten softer since I transitioned from a tech to a salesman. My shoulders hurt less too nowdays.
Ding, ding, ding...core first. I start and end every day with 10 minutes of back stretches, and do Pilates most days, my back problems have all but disappeared.
