We would like to get her groomed, but it is $130 to do that for her, and I think the thick fur kind of keeps the ticks at bay; an issue we really have here. I am not sure how she will do as a house dog. All she has ever known is sheep, but before we retire her we hope we can get another dog for her to help train. She is unbelievable with the sheep, from herding them, to taking on predators, to warning us when lambs are born by barking; she does all that and more. With these dogs, the last thing you want to do is train them because they must think on their feet by themselves. She does it well, always putting herself between the perceived threat and her sheep. With the sheep, it is a love/hate relationship. They like her protection, but hate having to be controlled by her. It is like Bitzer and Shaun the Sheep in real life.
