Does Stihl still make a carbureted version of their MS362?

Congratulations on the saw. We have the MS362 with XS added. The 362 was ok in it's time. The 400 was added to really take it's place.
Now send the 400 to huskihl for the XS and you probably won't NEED another saw...but after running one of his creations, you will WANT a few more:whistle::whistle::whistle:

Other than doing the transfer slot mod to my 365XT, I keep them stock.

I really like my mastermind 400! It has stolen quite a bit of run time from other saws in my stable.

Anyone use a aftermarket Bark Box? I think it's just a bolt on item.

I've heard some say it makes a little more power. And other say they couldn't tell any gains in power, but it helps get the heat out of the engine quicker. I've never used anything like it so I have no idea.

My 400 came with one when i bought it a year ago. Its loud, but the saw rips. It came with the original muffler too and i HAVE NOT run it stock. My last several cuttings this saw has gone to and im really liking it more for my bigger saw at a cut. IMG_2773.JPG

Part of me wants to put the original muffler back on and compare performance. The original owner of the saw put several nice extras on it. It was barely used. Here's the thread.

Ive thought of a bark box for my other saws instead of porting.

I'm not really that familiar with Stihl chains yet. You guys recommended I go with Rapid Super chain for my MS400C. It has a 20" b&c, 3/8", .050". So, would that be Stihl 33 RS 72 chain?

Like I mentioned before, my wood usually isn't too dirty. I fell them out behind the house, buck them in 12 or so foot lengths so I can get them out of the woods with my ATV and log hauler.

    Thanks, NYH1.

33RS 72 would be the standard full chisel
33RS3 72 would be low kickback full chisel

Ok, thanks. I don't want the low kickback chain. I'll go with 33 RS 72.

Yes. I use the same loop on my Stihls. The 20" bar makes it rounds on the 361, 400, 462, 460 & 500. 361 usually has an 18". I have one loop of semi chisel (rapid micro) that ive yet to use. I prefer full chisel and most of the wood i cut is clean.

Bored out of my mind and I can't stay in the house to long when it's 52° and sunny out. Figured I'd try to put some time on the new saw.

About the only dry spot there is right now.

The crick's usually about 30 feet wide, about 100 yards wide today. I should get a canoe.

Does anyone make factory size aftermarket dogs for these saws? The factory size is fine, I just want them on both sides of the b&c.
