Unfortunately birch is VERY rare on my lot, i'm stuck with aspen and spruce, the latter of which i dont even bother with unless it's really in the way. I have some maple too but again extremely rare. The bark on aspen is super thick so indeed it seems rounds would naturally be quite resistant to water.
