Does ash have to be burned as soon as cut?

    It was a live cut tree, guy had rounds all over his yard I stopped and asked if their for the taking...he replied and said he’s getting 17 more trees cut down, I almost collapsed from those words “17 more cut down” it’s like winning the lottery. So I will stack and season them and let them dryyy for a year or 2....rookies will always be rookies

    Did U just say meow, do I look like a cat to you boy, am I jumping around from tree to tree all nimbly bimbly

    No doubt about it, you come across some very strange people. I know of ash that has been put up for around 15 years before it was burned and burned fantastically well. I have heard of someone burning some that was 20 years in the stack. Personally I'm not sure if I've ever burned any over 7 years but have burned much at that age. Great fires!

    In addition, I well remember the time I had cut some ash and then forgot to get it. It laid in the woods, in the wet for 3 or 4 years. After it dried, it burned excellently. Ash is one of the longest lasting woods there are even if laying on the ground.
