That's what HD has up here , I just grabbed 10 more bags yesterday and I'm going to continue to do this every few days , to build my stash back up a bit . Lowe's had Cheat River and Power pellets , they also had 4 ton of AWF hardwood staked at the front door display outside that prolly won't get moved for awhile .
Same here Will. Buy by the pallet and take home 25 or 30 bags at a time. Works fine for me and the local places are good with it. Also works out great when splitting a pallet with someone. Tell them bring the forklift on over by the truck and we will do all the moving, no problem. Only takes a few mins to break a pallet down, really.
It sure does the one place the fork driver set my 1/2 pallet aside and when I came back the next day , he just loaded it on Yota one less handling for me
I am at the very end of my $99 ton stash. It's been a great ride....Currently burning the Oakie Golds we got from Apex Pellet. Have you heard or seen anything from James?
Have pellet dealers all around me it seems so I grab a ton at a time but when spring hits and the deals are to be had I grabbed four ton one Saturday offloaded stacked, shrink wrapped cover and then shrink wrapped again, back to the dealers 20 minutes away rinse and repeat until i had an additional 4 ton tucked and wrapped until fall. Had 10 ton on the side yard which when it came time to move down into the basement unwrap em load them on the truck back up to the bilco down the stairs to get stacked again. Good exercise and without cutting firewood anymore I always like and need exercise felt froggy one day and 6 ton went down into the basement in one day sore for a few days but the workout felt good.
Every HD I've ever been to had Chows and nothing but Chows for the past two years. Not that I get out of the area much, but that's all I've seen. Used to be Green Supreme, and now it's Chows. Also, I've never seen AWF hardwood at Lowes. There was one store down by me that had a pallet of the AWF white pine some time ago and I bought a couple bags, but they're picked clean at this point. Have you tried the AWF stuff? Hardwood and soft both? And if so, what's your thoughts on their hardwood offering?
Here's the AWF for Lowe's. They are ok but I think if you see them this season they are possibly old stock.
Don't be a quitter, my favorite thing in the world is dragging my crappy trailer with my old truck to pick up 3 ton of pellets. When I get home, my old, fat azz struggles to move them from the trailer to the garage. The next day my back hurts, I can barely walk, have brush burns between my legs and can not believe I still have to go get another load! Would not change a thing, to me this is my favorite thing about being a Pellethead!! But of course I am Goofy!
Don't forget staring at your stacks consuming several Blue Smoothies , that's pretty high up on the list
The hardwoods have always worked good for me, Picked up a ton a few weeks ago at Ace hardware for 220 a ton
Thanks. I was thinking the AWF hardwood in their regular branded bag. I think I could get these if I wanted to: So do you think it's the exact same pellet regardless of the bag? I've been meaning to ask that about the Clean Energy (Hamers) as well. The CE's I bought result in significant ash and I've been wondering it Hamer's Hot Ones (in the true Hamer's branded bag) would result in the same ash, or if they adjust the formula a little for the rebranded generic bags. Any ideas? That's a good price. I had the opportunity to pick up a couple bags and I didn't. I should have just to check them out, and now I'm kicking myself.
All the same , they re-bag for the BB's that way they don't pizz off the pellet house / stove shop who is charging a bit more than they do and the uninformed pellet burner doesn't know that it's the same pellet in a different bag , Hamer's slipped a bit IMO last season . I burned almost 2 ton last year and they were more ashy and it caked up too , heat was fine and they were a steal at $225 / ton
I spoke with Todd Webb from Hamer a couple of years ago and he confirmed that the CE's from Lowe's were in fact one in the same production. Unfortunately, their quality seems to have gone down hill a bit the past couple years too. I would assume the AWF's are one in the same too.
Oh dude you just made my afternoon ! I was fricking roaring with the wife looking at me like I had 3 heads holy crap that was awesome thanks for the chuckle always grateful for a good laugh and can connect with your goofiness and "Don't be a quitter" Oh crap can't stop laughing. Thanks again man ! Heck i get it now your from OIO
We do not have delivery here, I paid a handyman for several years due to circumstances, I did not have to this year. He charged $40 per skid plus gas, (GMC 6500 beast).
