Is to get all of my rounds out of the woods before the snow falls. Property is too steep to be safe if theres and snow or ice. 3" tonight and 10+ for weds into thurs. i have only processed less than a cord since the fall. On a better note, 2014/15 stack is looking great!
I hope not. Warren county overlooking the delware, north side of the mountain. Stuff dont melt without the sun. When they say 1-3" we get every bit of 3. And i heard calling of double digits later in the week. Bank on the side of my lane is well over 2' high and its 50% narrowed. Good thing its so steep off the edge so plow pushes it down the hill. I know it aint a lot of snow compared to other places but i grew up on the other side of the state where the snow would be all melted after a couple of days. Next month will be two years in this house and still figuring everything out. Starting to see a few flakes coming down now...
14/15 stack looking real good ! If you get the wood in & split /stacked this spring. Won't it be seasoned enough for 15/16 ? (is it red oak ?)
My 15/16 stack is behind the 14/15 one! Got another addition to the family coming mid april and wanted to be done with processing by then, well my other half would really like it done. It will will be half oak and def ready by 16/17. I double stack on pallets. The side that gets the sun is oak and the north side black birch and locust.
I am the same way 90% of where I cut is steep hills. Once it gets muddy or slick its a no go! Heck half the time I can't even get a 4 wheel drive tractor on the hills without them sliding off. I have been in some precarious situations that made me say never again. I'm not as young and dumb as I once was lol

Duhh you told me before, you weren't too far north! Sorry my memory sucks. We got a quick 2" last night between 6 and 9pm and im not liking what they're forecasting for wed into thurs. But i'll worry about that on wed. These 2am wake up calls are gettin reallllly old.
By the time it gets to you we may snowpacalypse 2.0 here - a mixed bag for tonight everyone stocking up for milk-sandwiches. Under 3" two weeks ago shut down the whole state nearabouts. I made the mistake of going to work and getting stuck there for ~50hrs cause all my sorry azz coworkers "couldn't drive" to work

I used to drive 50 miles to work and we'd get that from guys that lived a few miles away. Or I'd get called at around 6:30 when I was nearly pulling into the parking lot... "Hey... Don't come in to work the roads are too bad".
