Where is that? I’d swap the hood back to stock and get some smaller wheels and tires and have a clean rig.

I'm not sure on the answer on injectors.

Powerstrokenation.com and powerstrokearmy.com are great resources for information.

I think he might be a bit off on the price, but the value on clean 7.3s is very high. No emissions BS, just a reliable somewhat underpowered, loud engine.

I hear ya...my buddy that sells used trucks said he watched a nice clean '96 F250 PS Supercab 4x4 bring $11k at the dealer only auction!
They are starting to bring stupid money for nice ones...and that '01 was kinda low miles too...I bet he sells it. I'll post a link to it here if I can find it again. EDIT: I cant find it now...must have sold.

You'd probably get it...the pre-emissions Cummins are hot too...

Agree with above... I looked at 12v cummins, and obs fords, but the price tag was similar to the 7.3. 6.0s are actually cheaper here. I am looking at a 01 ccsb 4wd here a few hours away today. 225k, original owner. Asking 11,500 but already dropped $500 due to me driving 3 hours to look at it. Looks promising, but probably need some work down the road. Like most will at 20 years and 200k+ miles.

7.3 can be beefed up hp wise but there are no wiring oem harnesses available for them. Down side wiring for injectors is part of the head gaskets- very limited OBD which makes things a bit more difficult.
6.0 ya lot of bad news out there but if you can find a clean one 05-08 for say 6-7 g or less and are willing to put some into it they are the best deal going particularly if you live in an area where you can delete the epa bull, there are various up grades to the stock epa stuff and still make it pretty bullet proof.
6.4 stay away from, if you blow the hpop it becomes a total rebuild as the pump implodes and sends metal shards everywhere. as the injectors are powered by fuel those will be trashed $500 OEM ea.) and the entire fuel system has to be cleaned to a spotless condition or replaced that includes the fuel tank. There are some not so good items for 6.7- depf for one. but that is looking to be an industry wide problem.

Yeah I'm told prices on bulletproofed 6.0s has went back up as they are pretty stout motors after the work...

That's probably why they are higher priced around here. 2006 and newer diesels need to pass emissions here. Those 6.0 came out in 04, right?

I think 6.0 started mid year 2003 IIRC...

Yeah, I looked it up. 2003.5. plus that auto tranny is stout. For a while there those early 6.0's were cheap, mostly due to bad rap from all the emissions crap. Delete that ( if you can), and it sounds like a winner.

Just got in a hour ago or so. 2001, 225k, original owner. A few things like power door locks not popping up, possibly Needing a sensor, but drove great, clean, passed smog and drove it home for 10k. Super nice guy and was very straight up. Nice for both of us. He had put a lot of money into it and was selling to buy a new 1/2 ton truck. C3C4EAB8-6FEB-4D26-A564-4FAC0AFAFCC3.jpeg
