Guy at work told me he used to have a Suburban with a snow plow on it...went to the grocery store after work and found a parking spot where the guy on the other side had parked his small car well behind the line...so he pulled in there and dropped the plow "over the line"...come back out and the guy in the small car is waiting on him and PO'd! Guys says "you hit my car!"...but yet there was a 6"+ gap...my coworkers says, I did not, did you move your car? No, but you hit me...we gotta call the cops (and he says this right up in his face...and my coworker is no small guy!
Then the little weasel takes off all mad after the cops said there was nothing they could do since there was no contact/no damage, and on "private property" anyways! :picard:
    #truck life

Just gotta park in the back of the lots with the rest of the loooong trucks!

I had a 99 250 ex cab long bed. That thing needed side thrusters to get it to turn.

I don't know a lot about the failures. But there were a lot of failures and those failures were very expensive to fix. Like 9-10k expensive. I've heard of class action suits filed because of it.

That's exactly why I'm putting a DPK on my truck. So if the pump fails, you're only out the pump, not the entire high pressure fuel system.....

That turning radius is still the biggest thing that daily driving my f150 is a new-ish thing to me.

I'm used to it now, but it's definitely not as nimble as my Audi, or Grand Cherokee was. I won't even try to bring in the broncoII's for turning circle comparison. Those things could spin around in such a tight space. Maybe the next truck I get will have rear wheel steering? I know Ford put a patent out for that.

Scotty Overkill the color is dark blue pearl metallic. The blue jean color didn't come out for a couple of years.

Nice truck! Does yours have the tailgate step on it? I think that's one of the most underrated feature on Ford's. Where I store my ski boat, the guy is a wood burner as well. He had a SD with the rear tailgate step. He's now got a ram and he misses that step nearly every day.

Yes, there's been lawsuits over this pump.GM being sued over imploding Bosch fuel pumps in Duramax diesel trucks | Autoblog Too bad the lawyers make all the money from class action lawsuits.

Possibly. Although us and Euro diesel are not the same.
Also, The German companies like to keep the gooder stuff for their use. Then they send the other versions to other markets outside the EU. So the pumps may be similar, but not always the same.

Seen it before... On Bosch items.

I never really had an issue with all the Bosch on my Audi. Aside from a coolant temp sensor, that was stupidly placed making an easily replaced item not very easy, that was the only sensor/ electrical item that went on my Audi.

I'd say it comes down to our ULSD, lacking any decent lubricity. I've heard of guys adding 2-stroke oil to their diesels to add in lubricity to the fuel pump.
It isn't good if you still have the EGR/DPF hooked up though. Which really needs deleted anyway unless you want to get a regen at the worst of times and or all the time.

Around here you can't delete a diesel and have it road legal. All this emissions crap killed diesels.

Between the emissions stuff, and ten thousand dollar fuel systems, I'll never own another diesel myself.

A friend of mine got one of those 10K bikes for his duramax fuel system due to water intrusion. Insurance picked up the tab.
