12" cant is cool. Keeps it very even then. Can use same chain and bar too. Can try both rims to see if the 8 will pull them down any.

If the wood is clean. I got a square chain I made for competition saws site chain build off in 20". I loaned it out for a guy to run on a 3120 stock saw for racing and it got 1st twice. Chain isnt the fastest out there but good enough for a hack that dont know how to square file. Made using ATOP guide.

Different chain then mine. Goran from Sweden did this one I am testing here.

Using a stock Dolmar 7900 with 8T, testing out the new ATOP hand filed square work chain from Goran of Sweden.
Testing 11 chains in 10"x10" very firm dry poplar.

Yeah I was into this stuff at one time. Now I dont care as long as the wood gets cut. Wood has no clue how fast you cut it anyways.

Is that 7900 stock ? I have never used a square cut chain. What are some benefits and drawbacks ? Do you need a certain cc range to safely and efficiently use one ? Sorry if im derailing this thread. A lot of good info on here :)

I dont do square for work chain anymore. I cant file for chit and not needed for firewood. Some guys like it though and buy square grinders for such.
