Deer Sheds

The snow just melted in my woods so I hopped on the Honda to see how many trees came down over the winter. Found this in the first 5 minutes then spent an hour looking for his other side unsuccessfully. I will go back Sunday

In addition to the shed, I hope you picked up that wood. Looks like some bark-less dry oak.

It’s elm. I will start making wood when my trails dry out. I absolutely HATE ripping up the trails in my woods so I am patiently waiting. Got 3 saws standing ready!

 

Found 2 more shed antlers today in my woods. All from different bucks as they are all right siders.



A decent one and a scrub. I will keep looking for their left sides!

 

Found a can of Chewski too I see!

 

Went to the woods yesterday to hunt some more then it snowed. Will have to wait til this white stuff melts. My poor rain gauge.

 

Only finds this year and just got them Monday. Within 40 yards of each other.

He died!!!

 

Didn't dig through the bones. No arrow in the remains but there is a heavy hunting pressure in the area. I find at least 1 or 2 deadheads every year on this property.

 

I suspected a un-recovered bow kill on the the one I found last winter too.

 

Another Bush Hogging find. No punctured tire this time.
