Yeah I’m up on a hill so no flooding issues other than streams appearing and receding on a daily basis. I’m guessing it’s rained 5-6 days out of every week since I started this build and when it doesn’t rain working between 1300-1500 its brutally hot heat indices over 105f- that’s break/pool time.
Horizontal railing is done Temporarily set a couple stair railings to get a balluster count need 9 more and enough railing connectors for 52 balusters, 48 on these stairs and a few for the small set posted above. Thanks Woodwidow. I’ve built enough of these for other people figured it was time for my own with some upgrades.
I've often wondered about the avatar. Not enough to ask. I just imagine that he's one of those guys that enjoy downhill street luge.
For avatar misinformed more no-so-joke videos If I posted working pics there would be bad plumbers crack all over the place- put another notch in my belt this morning 38s are loose
! Perfection. That was great! Was that a joke video? Sort of like the "Pat" skit on Saturday Night Live, when it was still american? Is that fella realky that disadvantaged? Deck is great, by the way. I think all of us who do this kind of work shed some pounds in the heat.
Not my video nor do I know the origins- just thought he was an amusing looking individual making an azz out of himself.
Great looking job....And lol I remember when you took on that avatar, it made me laugh then and does every time I see one of your posts...
Second decking order came in yesterday. Finished the 5 missing in the main span plus the stair landing. Stair treads and risers done I’ll finish the railing tomorrow Small steps done as well
Stair railing done. The first section took a few hours as I first tried cutting them down with a portaband- not good results on cutting them square. Switched out the blade on my compound miter and threw an old fine tooth worn out blade with a jig and things went much easier.
Railing caps glued and screwed ran out of screws so I’ll finish the stair rails tomorrow. It appears I’ve acquired some wicker furniture that I’ll likely never sit in as with the decorator chairs in the den
You might be surprised at how comfy they can be. Our living furniture is wicker looking and it is nice and light to move around for vacuuming. Ours have more cushions though.
