Many large companies don't test for thc anymore. Easier to hire people if you dont.

It probably depends on the company. A white collar company may not, but these days if you put the company name on the side of the truck, and that truck gets in a wreck, it will more often than not end up with a lawsuit. It seems like the first thing that the lawyers look for in any accident are drugs and cell phone logs. And use of either is going to come up in that lawsuit. A drug test is mandatory after any type of incident in a lot of companies these days. The trucking companies and construction companies that I am personally aware of still fire people that test positive for marijuana, despite recreational use being legal.

Where I lived in Colo, homeless people and transients came from all over the US and trashed the parks and open space lands, hard drug use skyrocketed. Buckle up NY'ers.

Apparently, if you provide proof of your covid vaccination, you can get a free pre-rolled joint up this way. (not going to link to their site, so that's why the screen shot)

That's the kind of steely determination that no doubt saved countless lives early on in the pandemic determining that fishing from a boat with a motor was too dangerous to do during a pandemic, but if you removed the motor and got yourself some oars, then it was safe to do. Sigh...

Apologies. I was replying to someone from Michigan about a Michigan issue, and didn't think to phrase it for non-Michiganders.

Last year, we had a period of time where it was legal to fish in this boat:

And it was illegal to fish in this boat:

I have an retired neighbor, who lives alone and is partially disabled, who was effectively banned from fishing as a result. I heard about it a lot. A blanket ban on electric golf carts affected him disproportionately as well. Some of our shutdown stuff seemed quite capricious and enacted without any thought for people with disabilities.

Connecticut is just about there too. Maybe during tomorrow's special session they'll wrap it up (no pun intended).
CT Senate passes marijuana bill but governor vows veto
So... Massachusetts has been legal for a while (and making a ton of revenue from out of staters), then New York followed suit, Connecticut is just about there, and Rhode Island too as of this week. I suppose it's a good thing when the gubment gives the people it's supposed to serve the green light for something they were going to do anyway :smoke:

Gubment: Don't smoke this plant that we've decided is bad for you. Here, drink this booze instead. Although it's bad for you we can tax you for it.
    People: Smoke pot anyway.
Gubment: Okay, hip hip hooray guys, you can smoke this plant that you've been smoking regardless of our wishes, but now you must go to our designated distribution centers so we can tax you for it.
People: Continue to smoke what they've been smoking anyway.
