Dead white ash -- 18 year update

    Ive experimented with aggressively low rakers. Know exactly what your speaking of. Holding the saw back or it will stall out. It is a fun and fast time. 28” bar on my 372 got a little squirrelly tho. Forget and start the cut with the nose of the bar and it will pull you forward until you hit the dogs. If your lucky. I quit after that close call.
    I don’t understand the ash well. Never had any until the die off. Some of our trees have turned to mush and some look rather good. No idea what causes that. I have noticed the mush touching the ground and decent wood in the air on the same log.
    I wonder if the more severe freeze/thaw cycles in the northeast could have an effect? Blowing the cellular construction apart on a more frequent basis? Don’t know.

    Still getting some dead ash here in PA that’s is good firewood, got two trailer loads last week from a big one, double stem, wood was great
