Dead standing pine trees

    I have about 2/3 of a cord. It was a old tree that rotted out at the bottom and then blew over during last winter.

    Ive never burned Juniper but we have it here. According to chimney sweeps btu chart its 19 mbtus.

    Today i took some dead standing down , cut some slaps an split them to get a good reading. The overall moister is about 20% and thats to high. Well i just put them on the to dry stack and wait it out.

    You'll get them down to an acceptable range. Waiting sucks, I know.

    20% is fine. Many of us like it to be a bit lower but if I didnt have a wood supply that was drier than that I would have no hesitation burning 20% mc wood.
