Since I have an OWB, could certainly cut anything to four foot lengths and throw it in, but just don't have that kind of time. As it is usually take everything three inches and above for firewood, but to process all those piles for the furnace would take me the same time as cutting 10 cords or more But if you want some brush , I can supply it!
Well right, but like in the case of you have to chip it anyways, and haul it, is it worth anything to just throw it directly into your stove?
I understand that, I'm just asking if it would be worth it for somebody to do if the opportunity presented itself
In an area without abundant wood opportunities perhaps. Before I had chipper I used to take brush when I needed to to our township place, there must be 2000 cubic yards piled up there free for anyone. I often wondered what they make pellets fornpellet stoves out of. I had always thought sawdust, but maybe one could use brush if he had the right machine??
Pellets are pretty much all wood by products, sawdust from any wood process plant, pretty much anything. I'm just thinking, because we cleared a bunch of fence line this weekend and all the brush will be pushed in a pile and burned, me being a wood hoarder myself wishing I could harness every last bit of the BTUs. I just don't know how much hassle that would be and if the pay off wood come close to the work. Makes a guy wonder
