Beautiful landscape. Spring is such a nice time of year, with the new growth on the ground, and cool-ish weather that makes it more pleasant to work. You seem to be processing a lot of wood. Do you use most of it personally?
Thanks MikeInMa , when Backwoods Savage (The Ornery one too) came here in October 2010 I didn't have this ravine open but once I opened it up this area is one of my favorites. Once the ferns come up I stay out until the fall.
Thanks grandgourmand , it just started to green up the last 2 weeks. The wood is just for our use but I'm thinking a neighbor down the road will need some this winter so if they want we can help out. Tomorrow I'll be getting some tractor time and then on Friday the stacking starts. It looks like the weekend will be all rain (2 inches) so maybe I'll sharpen some chains. In the spring I usually like to cut 10 f/c = three cord, so I'm pretty close (over that if U include Pine) so hopefully we'll get more time in the boat. We really haven't had a bad windstorm in about four years so I'm thinking this will be the year my "feller" puts more wood down on the ground.
We have some big btu wood in the woods I c/s last year that I'll be hauling out before the end of May.........Basswood!
It fell across a main trail so I decided to split it after I bucked it up. It would've been perfect for this weather. When it rots, it makes nice dirt.
Hey, it did warm up today. We're at 67 degrees! Planted quite a bit of garden yesterday and Judy said to tell you she did get all of those 100+ strawberry plants in the garden.
So just in case you missed it thewoodlands .... Water Whizz... Anyone seen this? And nice work on adding to the stacks!
