Just got through packing a few minutes ago, one of my sons and I are heading up the mountain for our annual sheep hunt. We did not pack much food so it’s going to be a interesting trip.

    Good dad Rope!

Looking forward to some more pictures of your time together hunting.

Do have a .22 handgun to bag a grouse or two for eating?

Made it to 7,500 feet today got snowed on for so long I loss track of time. When got to where we wanted to hunt the inclination was ridiculous and the scree slides were over 4,500 feet in length. With the wind howling and the ridge only as wide as my size 11, tracking poles were one on each side of the ridge. No sheep in sight and the only sheep area was a good 97-98% chance of injury if we pushed it. We pulled out walked 7 miles back to the wheeler after swinging a mile out of the way to pack camp, in our backpacks. We left with J’s @35lbs and mine @65lbs. Left the high country at 1500 and was home by 2100, repacking/regearing for moose season. Leaving at 0800! We don’t have any blister, but have stone sore feet., no worse for the wear and a great adventure under or belt. We hiked around 14+ miles pulled just over 12,000 of total elevation. We had just at 25 hours on the mountain. 50579E08-50B2-4F72-B575-134BDA5D9209.jpeg 9A38F610-1E0B-46C2-B562-D0221A5AFEFF.jpeg C9320543-7012-4604-BC77-46A4E437FFCC.jpeg 29728B4A-E25A-4610-BFD6-1958B88206BA.jpeg 885E72C5-BCAB-4373-B925-C9620C784A77.jpeg 64287000-F21F-4FAC-ABCA-DAFC5F82E58E.jpeg AAC01E04-AE7A-480C-BDF0-2BAF93C1EB0B.jpeg 2A4A500E-C3B9-4379-8C6B-CAC4564089DE.jpeg 02834BC7-4CA0-42A3-9EF7-76527C3D01C1.jpeg

That's some impressive hiking especially in those conditions, and especially for a youngish! How old is he? Good luck on the moose hunt!
