Cutting through stone / hearth remodel

    "So you removed the large hearth and replaced it with the stone that you are standing on in the last pic? Made sure you had the full 16" out front right?"

    Only removed the stone on the wall behind the stove. Opened up the fireplace and didn't touch the stone hearth on the floor. There is 16 inches in front of the fireplace opening

    Yes, the house has the D shaped logs. It is about 35 years old.
