    Y'know, you don't really have to noodle that deep, especially in wood as brittle as red oak. Noodle in the width of the bar, then go to a combo of wedges and/or maul. Saves turning lots of wood into noodles, unless you need the noodles for fire-starters. :whistle:
    Less saw runtime that way too.

    I did split some like that but I really enjoyed running that 075. It's the first time I've used it since I bought it.

    Nice pair of saws you have there! Looks like you have some good firewood there. I'd like to get into some bigger stuff, lately I've just been doing a bunch of scrounging.

    I'm normally a small wood scrounge also. I lucked into this big oak when a friend cut down the tree near me and home owner didn't want to big pieces.
