Cut down some white ash

    Yeah that tree was only alittle over 70 yrs old too. Fast growing suckers.

    Beautiful trees and lumber. Will your tractor pick up a 12' log? What size tractor?

    Also, what do you do with poplar, what's it good for? I am not sure we have poplar but we have cottonwood; maybe it is a cousin. Cottonwoods grow big but they don't have much value to my knowledge.

    Yeah i have a 3039R JD. For a wet poplar log in the 25-30" dia range it can almost pick it up to full height. I am using the poplar for construction lumber as its not a very pretty wood. But it makes good lumber as its comparable to pine.
