    OK, here is a picture of the RWJ-4-1 setup on a 372XPW. You can see the crimp in the filter material in the second picture. I use the blue paper like filters in the summer because they are cheap, work well and when messed up with spit-back, I pitch them in the trash and use a new one.

    Jon1270 does this answer all your questions?

    You can also see in both pictures the small amount of extra protrusion on the blue XT choke control when using the RWJ-4-1 which is no longer made by Walbro, now made by Tillotson.

    Although most things are always for sale at the right price, don't even ask, it took me three years to talk HVA out of a set of 'World Champion' covers, which are NLA!

    Man, reading all this stuff. I'm still mystified. But that picture speaks volumes. If for no other reason, I'm following this series of threads is the vast amount knowledge & experiences that are being shared. KRL my hats off to you for doing this....:yes:

    Kevin, you can see the 'World Champion' top cover and starter cover in the first picture. They are made like the raised silver XP that came on the saws a few years back.

    ive never seen a need for anything more than a stock intake and carb on the 372xp as a work saw. when I build a 372xp im looking for fuel economy and extra power from the port work. if it drinks a lot more fuel and doesn't equate back into noticeable gains of more wood and can only be seen by stopwatch ,its just not a good trade off in my opinion.

    Exactly! This is the gray area that's getting some discussion lately as to what is a "worksaw", a "race saw", and that gray area in between that sometimes gets referred to as a "G2G saw".

    IM with Dex. I like the low top covers. The look of the hightop covers on the larger husq is a deal killer for me..... and why I buy Jonsered equivalents 2171, 2188 etc. Of course, I wont be milling with that size saw if I wound up with it since I have the 3120 specifically for milling.

    Terry has a good point, however this is a membership designed saw, so I will build what ever the members select.

    OBTW, I will remove the limiter tabs on the 12-1(B) carb but retain the caps. On the RWJ-4 you will need a splined carb tool. There are limiters on the RWJ but the tool defeats them.
