My buddy out the street (who builds the most amazing street rod grilles on the planet) just TIG welded the rear chip guard back onto the saw (keeps the chips and oil behind the clutch cover), so I spray bombed the raw aluminum and am now officially ready to do a little preliminary cutting with it. I'll try and tune it in the cut tonight, although it's just pump gas for now.....

No, this is a 46a that I had already. Your 82b will be going on the next RA I build, I have a 1958 model here that's complete with great compression and spark. It'll be down the road......

But you can see the 46a is the exact same configuration as the 82b and it's perfectly accessible.

Turn the flywheel CCW. Sometimes I take a penny or a nickel and make a key out of it for the flywheel. It will create a little bit of room for movement of the flywheel without having to modify anything else.
It takes a very small amount of movement at the key way to get 3 or 4 degrees of advance.

Your buddy did a nice job on the welding. I am surprised that it was aluminum and not magnesium.

You guys have any idea how this saw governed? Just curious....

I just cut some cookies out of a 20" diameter ash round, seems like a lot of bubbles in the fuel line as well.....might have a pinhole in the gas line inside the tank.....
