It's been so darn hot and humid here, I'm been breaking a sweat just breathing, never mind splitting. Kudos to you Woodsnwoods for doing it in this weather.
Lots of water if doing wood this time of year. Heat exhaustion can come on quick. I know if I start getting a slight headache,it's time to stop (stopping before then is a better idea). Go slow. a few yrs ago I did some wood cutting hauling for a few hours in 95 degree heat and humidity, felt slight woozy after that. Best to listen to your body rather than the wood gathering drive at this time of year.
I bring a bottle of water, and a foul attitude. Within 20 minutes it cured, no health issues. I also bought $300 in bars and chains for the 880. Felt much better.
