Check it once a month till you are happy with what you see....Then still check often just in case...:)

Did you run the "little" Lopi harder than the King? Maybe thats why you had better results from the Lopi, hotter chimney gases. How do the Lopi and the King emissions compare?

When I first got my stove I would check the chimney. With the cat it was always just powder up top I was happy. Last year I did not really check. Looked and could tell it was building up. And was getting smoke. Anyway cat failed early last year. Chimney was 80% blocked

I wonder if its due to there being less junk in the gases to gunk up the the?

That's what I am thinking, more of it gets burnt so it doesn't make it to the chimney in the first place.

Wouldn't that be works better on less efficient stoves for the reason cited? More smoke up chimney so it would work better?

More crud in the gasses on a dragon= more crud left in the flue.

Yea I got that so more of the CSL would make it to the chimney to work right?
