Wow we had some record rainfall the last two days. Flooded locally all over with lots of road closings and houses under water. I showed a house today to some buyers and walked into the house to find 4" of water in the basement.
Wow. And it looks like you are getting hit with another round right now. We only got .6" today but you are farther south.
No that's one that we went to look at. The creek was al the way at the back of the picture and that's how far it came up.
Wow. Send some of that my way, would ya? Every single storm has passed us by, and it's starting to get a bit dry. I have a crack in the back yard big enough to put my entire hand into.
Oops. Going to have a hard time selling that one. When I was looking for my first house I was perusing the listings book and one house looked to be priced pretty good along with some property. The realtor looked at me and said "It's on RIVER ROAD". He got the point across.
That's what I told these people. You will need flood insurance, then we went to look and it was flooded. I had been in it many times before but this time it had water in it.
There is one stretch of houses along a road near the golf course I haunt that if we get an exceptionally rainy stretch or a couple tropical systems back to back, it's not unusual to see garage doors under water. I have pics somewhere. Not good for resale for sure. Good luck with that listing Swags.
That's terrible Swags.. Did you make the sale? We have had a crazy amount of rain.. I woke this morning at 3 am only to hear my sump running non stop. It was rushing in the basement crock like I have never seem before..
Exactly, I would,have done the same. The city is actually doing something about it though with grant money. They will buying about 10 of the houses next year that get the most flooding on that street. Maybe more if more grant money comes in. Then they will be leveling the houses and making it park land.
Your response almost makes it sound like flooding happens there enough for the government to do that.
It does on that street, the creek behind it is where all the water goes when it rains hard. The houses on the other side of the street are a lot higher and are fine. But the houses on the side with the creek are the ones with problems. They were just built at a lower elevation then they should have been.
I have had water problems. Makes me ill to think of this. That water is filthy and will ruin furniture, furnace, hot water heater, and anything else in that basement. Eck
