There is a cover on the back. Basically a differential cover of sorts. The bands are right there. On Oliver crawlers that is.

That's really slick and simple. John Deere 440..I think u have to disconnect tracks and remove rear sprockets and stuff. Sounds horrible !

Wrap your noggin around this. This is a demo "differential steering" unit dealers had to show how the Oliver steering worked vs its competition. Never decoupling a track has big advantage in traction and safety if pulling heavy loads down hill or side hilling. Traditional crawlers have a clutch for each track then a brake for each track.

They are for Oliver so I'm sure they are for Case. Zimmerman out of PA is the Oliver expert.

The steering bands are just right and left of the diff.

Now, I'm an extremely mechanically inclined type of individual. Since I was a kid. That drawing above.....nope. Can't get my head around it.

It has a drawback. They can't turn as sharp as the other style that could turn around in its length vs a three point turn to turn around.

It's funny though...im watching that video I screenshotted on the case 310..they just got to the steering. It's exactly the the same ..just as you said. Same picture of the diff and everything ! You should check it out !

So it's not a true zero turn is what your saying ? But it also doesn't chew up the ground either. Probably easier on under carriage parts I'd imagine as well.

Exactly. It steers like you are supposed to operate a modern rubber track loader because its easier in the tracks and undercarriage.
