Oh...you are supposed to return them...I thought they were selling firewood carts for $0.25 We've had Aldi here for probably 20 years already. They just remodeled and added on to the store a couple years back...now they are building another one on the other side of town (closer to "the main shopping area", read: Walmart ) Burning some of that punky Oak here myself lately...works great for lighter heating days...might not want it for January nights...
This is the future for all grocery stores as the plastic continues to pile up on the planet. I like it because I hate waste, but I miss having all the paper and plastic bags around to reuse. But most people just throw them out. Also, the sort of thing they do to keep their costs, and prices, so low. Just like Costco and Trader Joe's.
Seek medical attention! Another loud outburst of laughing just occurred. My wife may get a username/password here yet! Its gotta be better than FB
Dead standing oak that has been dead standing so long it has lost not only bark but all the sapwood does look kinda weird. The ones I've found have also been hard as a rock and tough on a chain.
We quit going to our favorite store of 25 years and go to aldi for most of our groceries. We can save $30-40 on a big cart load. Their products are good!
So funny you mention this, because I just experienced this yesterday 1st hand. I was out back and a oak tree with 3 trunks coming from it, two really thick and tall, other was thin not too tall and dead as a door nail. I checked it out and had very very little punk in only one area so I took it down (Sorry no pics). Bucked up a piece, split it and checked with the MM, SCORE.....19%........Split and checked a few other pieces......18%, 20%........Split and stacked ready to burn!!! Wasn't to much but every bit helps! I did notice without a doubt it was hard as a rock and very very tough on the the chain. It definitlty felt different cutting it for sure, was a bit choppy. Few moments later I cut an Ash limb in half and it was like cutting butter compared to that dead oak!
That too. My aquarium is 200 gallons plus a 40g frag tank and a 75 g sump. Soon enough I'll be downsizing to abot A 100 g tank.
