garbage free to anyone who will take it. Coffee grounds (gather them together and you can make a fresh pot) food wrappers, cat litter. You can have a coffee while you pick up a useless concrete slab or brush or ripped, stained, broken furniture and bedding infested with bedbugs and stained with animal urine. If some of these adds are not just jokes there are some genuine homegrown american idiots on CL

"Thanks for the lowlife phone message. It's guys like you that give men a bad name. You post trash and then go straight to the goober IQ response when someone with half a brain points it out. I bet you live in a trailer with a outdoor refrigerator and cars up on concrete blocks"

    Firewood Facts - $1 (The Woodshed )

Its that time of year again.

Wood doesn't begin to season until its been bucked (cut into rounds) and split. Stacking in rows in the wind and sun speeds up drying, but most species take a year to season. The wood is seasoned when its around 20% moisture content or below. Oak takes about 2 years.. because of how the wood grains grow, it doesn't give up its moisture easily.

Burning green wood produces 1/2 the heat, more creosote, and more pollution than seasoned wood.

Moisture meters are sold at hardware stores. For an accurate reading, split a piece of wood and test the freshly split side.

A cord of wood is 128 cubic feet, or a stack 8' long, 4' feet high, and 4' deep. A face cord is one single row of wood 4' wide and 8' long. A small pickup with a 6' bed will fit a face cord with the wood stacked tightly and up to the bed rails. A full size pickup will hold 1/2 a cord.

In NYS, wood selling falls under Ag & Markets law. You have the right to obtain a receipt from the wood seller.

Lastly, most of the value in firewood is related to labor, and firewood is not valuable until it has been cut and split.. its even more so if its been cut, split, and stacked for a year or more (seasoned). No licensed and insured tree company is going to come take down your trees for free.

    Good luck!

edit: I do not sell wood, I cut my own. I just want people to make educated decisions, if they want to.

"So this is random but I HATE wasting food. Ended up making 2 trays of lasagna. I'm a nurse, it's just me and a python and we're not going to eat all this. I'm on call the next few days and probably won't be here. Idk if there's anyone on here who would want food but I thought I'd put it out there as I know I won't eat all this. I can leave it in the front porch and you can keep the tin. I'm an RN so I can promise you this was aseptically prepared, thinking maybe a college kid would want a hot meal? Idk email if interested with, "Garfield LOVES lasagna!" if interested. Finished cooking at the time of this posting, hoping to get rid of by tomorrow. thanks for looking!!!!"

that's funny, wonder if anyone took her up on it. Probably was good and safe, but the folks who would take it probably don't have internet connection in their cardboard box home.

    Where was this posted (city)?
