There are places that heat entirely with lodgepole pine. Use more, stoke a lot including 2 am, but still heats the home :)

Went this morning for the free poplar. I made 2 trips with the ole Tahoe. Another guy was loading up smaller stuff in his tacoma, Im guessing for the campfire. I offered to help, he declined. A bunch of bigger but very manageable rounds left. I told the owner I'll be back with a trailer and take it.
I started to talk firewood with the owner. She burns also, but dont have room for all the poplar. I told her I was 4+ years ahead. She seemed amazed and asked if the firewood lasts that long. I had a nice talk with her and got to give a little awareness on 3 year plan.

I would've gobbled up those big rounds, too. I did some poplar this Spring that looked to be about that size. Got something like 1.5 cord out of one tree! Looks like I have my shoulder wood for a while. And, nice to inform folks about the 3-year plan, although I'm inching toward the 4-year plan! :D

Hmmm... Dunno about that... I'd have to get to 16 cord first for the 4-year plan, and I don't know where I'd be "allowed" to put 4 more cord, if ya know what I mean! I'm pushing my luck with 13 to 14 as it is!

C’mon man, where’s the FHC spirit? Let’s not split hairs here over the fact that it’s a spruce and not a pine. There’s a man in need of free tree removal! Isn’t that what we’re all here for?
