Been my experience that most items for sale on FB Marketplace or CL are misrepresented as to the actual condition, IOW sellers haven't a clue what is good and what is flogged and most of the stuff on there (especially wood and pellet stoves are flogged). Last one I bought on FBMP I went and looked at (supposedly in excellent condition) at it was flogged so I offered the seller 50% of the asking price, which he took grumbling but I flat told him he flogged it and that I'd have to spent some time and money to fix his obvious I don't care attitude. Take it or leave it, the siren call of 100 dollar bills is strong. Especially new crisp ones.

Kuuma Vapor Fire 200 for $2,500, with “needs repair kit for crack in cold air inlet.” Is this something to consider for a 24x32’ shop? brenndatomu ?
How well insulated is it...and ceiling height? What temp would you be aiming to keep it at? The 200 is the smaller furnace...the 100 is the larger model (backwards, I know) I think most shops that size would be a handful for a VF200...but there are some variables that could come into play too. As far as $2500 for one needing work...sounds a little strong to me, but hey, you don't see used VF's pop up very often, and the VF200 has not been made for 4-5 years now...supposedly coming back soon...but will probably be $6k now too!
10’ ceiling. Insulation coming soon (2x4 wall, so thinking R13 + an inch of foam in the walls. Thinking of splitting the space in half for wood shop (warmer) and other half for the tractor (cooler).
It’s over in NY. Odd how these Kuumas keep popping up over there. I’ve written to see how much wood has gone through it and if there are pictures of the repair area (this is FBMP, if anyone needs it worse than I do)
Yeah you would definitely want to find out exactly what the deal is with it...and the age. There some changes made on those air intakes over the years, depending on the exact age, that changes if its a single layer of steel, or two, and how thick it is. I guess I am assuming this air intake they are talking about is the plate at the lower front of the firebox. I've put their "kit" on a few of them for cracks there...which are usually from people piling hot coals right against the front during reloading. If you can get the serial number off of it, then Lamppa MFG. can tell you the age of it...I'm guessing its older (10-12 YO) and probably sold for $2500 new. Talk with Dale, he'll help ya out...
What's your thoughts? I thought this was a good deal if I had the room for it. My bro in law has the room I might ask to go in half's.
