It's a lot of bang in the shoulder that's why I mentioned it. I have a similar M77 in 270win but polymer stock, it's my deer rifle but has leveled a few yotes and fileted a couple Armadillos - yes I see them during deer season here If you ever get the chance to shoot an AR platform or even mini-14 the guns handle better and the kickback is un-noticeable for the follow up shots or slight misses
Zap the call will make it easier to see and kill them compared to just random spot and shoot type of hunting. Just stay downwind of them, because they get Smart really quick once they know you are after them. Get a deer carcass from a butcher and bait them. That's always been my best luck.
I'm not sure if baiting them with a deer carcass is legal in NYS, but there are guys up in this area that use to do it. I've been reading some on hunting coyotes so we'll see if I can find a few spots that allow me a good shot. I've been congested for about two weeks so I took a morning off, I hope it clears up.
