She took that blow and came back strong. Atta girl. She has 1 great album out and 1 coming in a little over a week. Yes, I am a closet Lindsey Stirling fan. Well, not anymore. Lol. Here ya go Smoke, you're gonna flip your lid for this one......
I posted this on the soundtrack thread a while back but it belongs here too. Type O Negative does Seals and Crofts.
There was a band in Boston I use to follow in my teens and twenties called O-Positive. They were along the line of R.E.M.'s sound. Great local band. I do miss those many night in Boston's clubs with great bands till 2 or 3 AM Not really known for this one. Just Walk Away Renee originally done in 1966 http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/Walk Away Renee/31JhWH?src=5 More their sound here http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/Talk+About+Love/6MlnCI?src=5 http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/With You/2Tj6oN?src=5 http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/Holding On To You/31JpHn?src=5 http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/Say Goodbye/2Tj6FA?src=5
Arlo Guthrie doing a cover of City Of New Orleans And here is Steve Goodman; the writer of the song. On a cassette tape, I have a radio interview he did in 1982 on Pete Fornatale's Mixed Bag show on WNEW in NYC and he played this song. He died of leukemia very shortly thereafter. This is part of the interview and the part I have on tape:
If you like Pink Floyd, I think you'll appreciate this cover. It's nice to see that the kids can enjoy the music of us old fogies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?annot...&feature=iv&src_vid=EcoPvQ6uDNk&v=Nx_wEOs2-3Q
And a song that can't covered? There are a bunch of covers out there but I don't think I've heard one that can match the original. The Clash drove the song pretty hard to begin with.
Definitely a fan of Halestorm. Its been probably a year or so since the last time I saw them. Checked the website for current tour and they are opening for Eric Church. That doesnt make much sense? The 3 times have seen them its been with Godsmack, Shinedown and Staind.
How many modern rock bands have competent female lead singers, let alone one with the ability to cover legendary names like Axl Rose, Sebastian Bach, and Brian Johnson among others? She lays down a piano ballad like Break In and turns around to belt out a tune like Love Bites (so do I)..... Is is hot in here? (Ok, I gotta take a break now, whew!)
