5FDP is my favorite band of the newest generation. They've done some real good covers. They're big supporters of the troops and seem to be great guys.
And the original: Have you ever gone outside of your musical "comfort zone" and decided you actually like it? More than a little... She's fun to watch too.....
There are quite a few songs that the cover version is thought by many to be the original. Some that I can quickly think of: Clapton doing Marley's I Shot the Sheriff. Hendrix plays Dylan All along the Watch Tower. Van Halen covering the Kinks, You Really Got Me.
Very true, but I am old enough to know most of the covers original artist. Do people really think VH was the original for You Really Got Me? damm, I must be old
Yes there are Davies says that THE KINKS actually came to resent the cover version that was featured on VAN HALEN's 1978 self-titled debut. "We got pizzed off though, when we played America," he said. "THE KINKS had an album out called 'Low Budget' and we ended up touring and playing stadiums. Some kid came up to me after one of the gigs and said: 'I like your cover of VAN HALEN's 'You Really Got Me'. You have to smile sometimes." Just in case you were unaware, I dont think Vince looks like that any more-most likely wont see him with no shirt these days Very cool winning tickets !! Dont miss Alice Cooper opening-he still has it all- Sounds good, has a great show and many kick azz songs. I'm pretty sure he has the same chick on guitar as last year when I saw him, she is killer. Her name is Orianthi.
Seriously? Didn't think anyone covered Tull -other than, maybe, Aqualung or Locomotive Breath. Great find!
