My thought exactly. The ash I've seen gets very punky and paper-like, rarely hollows out.

Yeah these have been dead for some time. There’s another that can maybe be seen in the background that’s even worse, but there’s a wood duck fam in it so they don’t want to take it yet. If it falls, it shouldn’t hit anything unless it get blown against its own lean and into my fence. .

    Done.

Stacked out at just over 1 1/2 cords. Will be ready for next year.
I’ll have to snap a pic of the pile later, but here’s the job site. Home owner is happy.

Stumps are getting ground tomorrow. They’re going to power rake and reseed their whole lawn and they’re going to plant three new ornamental trees along the side of their house. Should be more Gooder-er

Didn’t get any pictures, but i took the last dead ash down today. Had my 14yo daughter in my truck giving a tug on a rope, cut a huge knotch, and then started the back cut. I slammed in two wedges to and felt I could control it with them, but if it didn’t go right it would hit either my vinyl privacy fence or the neighbors house. All went perfect. Here’s a screenshot of the baby coins in a hollow chunk. I left that part just in case the momma, who ran out and just about over my daughter a couple minutes after it landed, comes back for them tonight. Doubt she will though. Ohh well.
