Not too worried about warranty’s. Not sure about CL but they’re never very long anyway on the overseas units. I’ll check out American splitters. Not many box wedges available from what I’ve seen unless your buying the real big behemoths for lots of money. Sorta why I was thinking about the CL with power but little options. Make whatever I want out of it.
Nice but at 17 ton I don’t think it would handle a box wedge. My thoughts are, with some tinkering and a lot of luck a box wedge could drive splits up a short ramp without a motorized conveyor. Not far, not steep. Enough to load a truck. Seeing as the splits come off the wedge in a single layer I theorize if you can keep them contained at just the right width while still allowing for splitting clearance it may be workable. Off a 4 or 6 way wedge they go all over the place and in multiple layers creating jams. A box should help direct the flow and maintain one layer reducing weight. I could be totally insane too
Yeah, I wasn't thinking about that when I posted that fast splitter. The thing I don't care for on those box wedge splitters is how they make 2 kinds of splits...perfectly square, and thin slabwood type splits...many of which are pretty much just splitter trash...
Yep you get more trash. Much can be considered kindling LOL I have no problem getting rid of the trash. Local trails made into mud pits by 4 wheelers and my own private trails that have soft spots or rocks that could use a nice cushion over. Plenty of wood to get out here. The faster I split the faster I can fetch more. Chances are I’ll never do this project anyway. I still enjoy building these things in my head tho. Favorite pastime.
