Welcome aboard nichole.escoe This thread is a bit dated, but hopefully Dougintennessee has the info you need.
I have a country comfort insert do not have a model number. I’m rebuilding it and took the doors off and fire brick. Am I’m missing something inside the burner? I’m trying to getting this put back together and install it in my house. I need to know what size liner I would need and what I need to hook it to my stove. I want to make sure it is installed safe because I’m going to be using it as as a source of heat. Any info would help. Thanks
Hello Everyone, I also just moved in to a place with a Country Comfort CC-100 and have no idea how to operate this as I have always only had regular old brick or stone fire places. This is my first time with a fireplace insert and though it all seems to be in good condition besides the fire blanket or insulation above the secondary burner which seems to have deteriorated and was blocking air flow through the unit. If any one has the manual and can share it that would be incredibly helpful. Also might be a silly question but is the fire blanket, top insulation necessary for the fire place to function? thank you for any advice, input and especially manual.
Hello and welcome to the forums??? Beings you joined December 4th 2019 you must have fled the Country until now! Anyway, I'm no help to you but keep checking in, someone on here must have some knowledge of your Insert. Be patient. Country Comfort Inc.
Welcome to the show! Nice to have you here but I have to ask, does it really get cold enough for a fire in the Baja? That is Mind boggling... start here... Country Comfort Inc.
I am Northern Baja, closest to California border and yes it has been in the 40’s F at night and I run very cold due to poor circulation and anemia, so I just love having a cozy fire to warm my weary bones. Pulse a lot of older homes in Mexico ( like the one I have rented) are made from bricks, stone or ( new ones are usually) cement blocks and are not insulated at all.
It’s a Wood Burning Country Comfort CC-100 from 1985, no pellets involved as far as I know, but honestly I’m new to all of this and don’t know much. I saw that Dougintennessee has the exact same one and had posted pictures and asked for help with it and so was hoping to piggyback off what others already answered and find out more.
That used to be the case, but the weather everywhere seems to be getting more extreme, Baja is no exception and if you are close to the ocean, on a hill or in a valley the wind chill, marine layer and/ or lack of sun can seriously effect the temperature. I currently renting on a hill in a valley near the ocean so I get all three . It’s truly wonderful in the summertime and a beautiful place to be but so cold currently as the house I’m in is made of brick with stone floors and no insulation whatsoever.
